Privacy Policy

This policy explains which data is processed and for what purposes when you visit deprem.info. It also serves as the information notice under Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK).

In short

  • The site has no sign-up, login, forms or comments; we do not ask for your name, phone number or address.
  • The site does not set its own cookies and does not access your location.
  • To keep the site running and improve it, we use Cloudflare, Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Google AdSense. Some of these services use cookies.
  • Analytics and advertising cookies only run with your consent where this is required by law.

What data is processed?

Technical and security logs

With every request, your browser automatically sends some technical information: IP address, browser and operating system details, the page visited, date and time, and the referring page if any. This information is processed by the Cloudflare network in front of the site and by the hosting server. The purpose is to deliver the site quickly, prevent attacks and abuse, and fix technical errors. These logs are kept only as long as necessary for these purposes and are not used for advertising or profiling.

Usage statistics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how often pages are visited, which devices visitors use and how the site is used. Google Analytics recognizes your device through cookies it places in your browser and collects information such as page views, session duration, approximate location (city/country level), and device and browser type. Google Analytics does not log IP addresses. This data reaches us only as aggregated reports; we do not identify individual visitors.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We may show ads through Google AdSense to cover the site’s costs. Google uses cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads and to prevent abuse. Details are in the Google ads section below.

Search performance (Google Search Console)

We use Google Search Console to monitor the site’s visibility in Google Search. This service provides aggregated data, such as how many times we appeared for which search queries; it contains no personal data about our visitors and does not use any cookies on the site.

Email correspondence

If you email us, your email address and the content of your message are used only to reply to you and resolve your request; they are not shared with third parties.

Data we do not process

The site does not ask for location permission, take payments or create accounts. Fonts are loaded from our own server, so no information is sent to a third-party service to display fonts. The share buttons on the pages are plain links: no information is sent to WhatsApp, X, Facebook or Telegram unless you click them.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can manage cookies used by third-party vendors for personalized advertising at aboutads.info and, for users in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu.
  • If you do not consent to personalized ads, ads are shown based only on the content of the page you are viewing (non-personalized).

Purposes and legal bases

  • Secure and uninterrupted operation of the site (technical and security logs, Cloudflare): necessary for our legitimate interests (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f); GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Usage statistics (Google Analytics) and showing ads (Google AdSense): your explicit consent where required by law; otherwise our legitimate interests.
  • Answering your requests (email): necessary for establishing and exercising a right, and our legitimate interests.

Data transfers

The data listed above is shared with Cloudflare, Inc. and Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited, which we use to provide the service. The servers of these companies may be located outside Turkey in various countries, mainly the European Union and the United States. Transfers abroad are made in accordance with the conditions of Article 9 of the KVKK and the data processing agreements these companies provide. Data is not shared with anyone else unless legally required, and it is never sold.

Retention

Data is kept for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it is processed and for the periods required by the relevant legislation, and is then deleted or anonymized. Google Analytics data is set to be retained for a maximum of 14 months. Cookie lifetimes are listed in the Cookie Policy.

Your rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK, you have the right to:

  • learn whether your personal data is processed and, if so, request information about it,
  • learn the purpose of the processing and whether it is used in line with that purpose,
  • know the third parties in Turkey or abroad to whom it is transferred,
  • request its correction if it is incomplete or inaccurate, request its deletion or destruction under the conditions set out in the KVKK, and request that these actions be notified to the third parties to whom it was transferred,
  • object to a result against you arising exclusively from analysis by automated systems,
  • claim compensation if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing.

Visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom also have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, data portability and withdrawal of consent under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of their country.

You can send your requests to [email protected]. Your request will be answered free of charge within 30 days at the latest. You can withdraw consent given for consent-based processing at any time in the ways described in the Cookie Policy.

Children’s privacy

The site is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Security

All connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS) and the site runs behind Cloudflare’s security layer. Since the site has no user accounts or passwords, no such information is stored.

Changes

We may update this policy as the services we use or the legislation change. The current version is always published on this page; the date at the top shows when it was last changed.
